Typical Visit with Dr. Robson
Providing quality health care takes time. For a first visit, expect to spend up to 2 hours at the clinic. For a follow up visit expect to spend at least an hour. Please bring a book or electronic device to distract your child during the lengthy consultation.
Most of the time at the clinic is devoted to a discussion of your child's bladder problem. Dr. Robson takes a careful voiding history. Occasionally a focused physical examination is necessary. At some point Dr. Robson does an ultrasound of the bladder. The ultrasound is usually performed before and after voiding. Your child is requested to void into a special uroflow toilet that assesses bladder function. The urine is tested for infection.
Dr. Robson will offer advice on how to help with the problem. You will always be given enough time to ask questions.
Before you leave Dr. Robson reviews a personalized set of recommendations to consider. You are given a printed copy of these recommendations. The doctor who referred your child receives a copy.
If follow up is necessary, you need to email the office assistant to arrange the appointment.
